The Golden Rule of Spatial Proportion
Selecting architectural metal art is an exercise in proportion and visual balance. A piece that is too small gets lost on an expansive wall, while an oversized piece can overwhelm a room's architectural lines.
As a foundational guideline used by interior architects across Dubai and Mumbai: your wall art should occupy approximately 60% to 75% of the available wall space that is not covered by furniture. When hanging above a sofa, console table, or headboard, the artwork should ideally measure two-thirds (66%) the width of the furniture below it.
Understanding the Three Signature Finishes
At Rosariya, our pieces are crafted in three distinct, archival-grade finishes. Here is how to harmonize each finish with your home's aesthetic:
1. Matte Obsidian Black
Our architectural matte black finish is achieved through electrostatically applied dual-layer thermoset powder coating. It offers an ultra-deep, glare-free finish that delivers bold contrast.
- Best suited for: Light neutral walls (limewash, ivory, warm linen, microcement), contemporary minimalist interiors, and Japandi or Scandinavian-inspired aesthetics.
- Lighting tip: Front-facing warm LED spot lighting emphasizes the crisp silhouettes of the calligraphic strokes.
2. Brushed Antique Brass
Warm, radiant, and deeply evocative of heritage Arabian metalcraft. Our brass finish features a delicate directional hairline grain that catches ambient light with a golden luminescence.
- Best suited for: Warm neutral walls, rich jewel-tone accent walls (deep emerald, midnight navy, charcoal), travertine, and marble cladding.
- Atmosphere: Instantly infuses warmth, luxury, and spiritual richness into formal majlis and living rooms.
3. Brushed Silver / Stainless Steel
Sleek, cool, and undeniably modern. The silver finish reflects light with a subtle industrial shimmer, making it a favorite for monochromatic modern homes.
- Best suited for: Cool grey tones, raw concrete, industrial lofts, and contemporary glass-and-steel penthouses.
Hanging Height: The 145cm Gallery Standard
The most common mistake when hanging metal wall art is positioning it too high. The international gallery standard is to position the center point of the piece at 145 cm (57 inches) from the floor, which corresponds to the average human eye level.
When hanging above a console table or sofa, maintain a distance of 15 cm to 25 cm (6 to 10 inches) between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the metal sculpture to maintain a cohesive visual relationship.
